About

Please do not confuse me with TJ Shook, RHP for the Milwaukee Brewers. I haven’t pitched since little league.

That being said, my full name is Theresa Shook, and I've been working in themed entertainment for 25 years, give or take. For now, I am living and working in the Orlando, FL, area. When I was much younger, I had dreams of working for George Lucas and doing special effects until I realized that special effects at that time relied very heavily on math and physics (which is more math). Math is not my strong suit. This was before computers were readily available and useful for such things. So I decided to do something behind the camera, somewhere, in broadcasting. This all changed somewhat when I took Stage Craft for Theater while in college. I was hooked, and the rest is history, as they say.

Upon completing my MFA in Set Design, I was encouraged to move West, and so I did (secretly hoping to finally get the opportunity to work for George Lucas). Somehow during the grind of trying to land a job on a film or in television, I got scooped up into the wonderful world of theme parks and themed entertainment. I've been doing that ever since without regret, enjoying the process, meeting and working with some incredibly gifted, creative, and talented people.
I worked in a few fabrication shops in Los Angeles figuring out how to build things and then drawing them up so they could be. I then moved to the creative side of things, working in some design studios and finally landing a job with Walt Disney Imagineering, where I spent 11 years working with incredible teams to bring magic to millions first in Glendale, CA, and then in Orlando, FL.
Over the years, I have picked up a hobby or two. Some actually contribute to what I do to make a living. More recently, I have discovered a joy and passion for photography. I'm doing my best to soak up as much information as I can. But the best teacher is to go out and do it, and I try to whenever the opportunity, and my schedule, allows me to do so.
